Ford is expanding its market in South Africa with the recent confirmation that the company will be releasing the new Ford Ranger Fx4 limited edition locally. The Ford Fx4 is based from the F-Series pickup trucks that have gained a lot of traction in the United States market.
The Ford Ranger Fx4 is based on the Ford XLT Double Cab. It has the same 3.2-liter engine and packs quite a handful of styling enhancements like foglight bezels, roof rails, and a new radiator finish. It also sports a different design for its door and tailgate handles.
The Ford Ranger Fx4 is available in two models, a six-speed automatic model and a six-speed manual transmission model. Both models come with the standard Ford Protect which includes a four-year/120,000km comprehensive warranty. It also comes with a five-year/100,000km service plan, unlimited roadside assistance plan for three years, and an unlimited five-year corrosion warranty, according to Wheels24.
The interior of the Ranger Fx4 is adorned by the current-generation version of Ford’s SYNC3 infotainment system. It is equipped with satellite navigation which can be accessed through the 8-inch touchscreen on the dashboard. The infotainment system also supports voice commands.
There are a handful of interesting design tweaks that were done on the Ranger Fx4. The pickup truck now sports a 17-inch alloy wheel that comes standard in black color. The same color goes for the truck’s rear bumper, side steps, and tubular sports bar. Complementing this design cue are new decals which are applied on the Fx4’s sides and rear tailgate.
The Ford Ranger Fx4 will be offered in four color options: black, gray, silver and white. As a limited edition model, the truck will be exclusively available on 4×4 models.
