Dr. Dave Umahi, the Executive Governor of Ebonyi state, has announced that the state is all set to start importation of electric powered automobiles in the state. Dr. Umahi, also mentioned that the use of electric mode automobiles is not only a technology of tomorrow but a technology that cuts cost. He, however, stressed that his passion remains on prioritizing and developing Ebonyi State to the amazement of the general public.
Umahi, made an announcement on a statement signed and issued to journalists through his Special Assistant on Media, Mr. Francis Nwaze, who disclosed that Umahi is at the final stage of arrangement with the Indian companies managing Directors including Mr Vinay Grover of Simba Group, TVS Company leaders, marketer of Electric Tricycles/Vehicles at Bangalore, India.
On 16th October 2019, Governor Umahi presented a hand of partnership to India Government through the Indian High Commissioner, His Excellency, Mr Abhay Thakur. Whereby, he enumerated the establishment of Electric Automobile Assembling Plant, Buses, Motorcycles, Importation of Sample electric-powered Tricycles and cars are some of the areas of partnership. Others include; Agriculture, poultry, piggery and food processing which were prioritized in his presentation.
