Around USD 7 billion has been set aside for the development of Dodoma City Headquarters in the Dodoma City Council (DCC) Budget recently given by Dodoma City Director, Joseph Mafuru, for the fiscal year 2022/23.
According to Mafuru, this project would provide a better office in the Njedengwa region, replacing the present facility built by CDA in 1973, while also matching Dodoma City’s level and even elevating the capital city’s profile.
The projected Dodoma City Headquarters will be built starting in July of this year.
Commitment to not just the Dodoma City Headquarters project but also to other projects.
Mr. Mafuru stated that the city has prioritised project completion, contributing to people’s strength, establishing productive development projects, boosting the health sector, education, agriculture, and livestock, and improving service delivery in remote areas, in addition to the Dodoma City Headquarters project.
He went on to say that between July and December of the previous year’s budget, 13.8 billion/- was spent on strategic projects, land surveys, land compensation payments, and social activities.
The budget also includes money for the purchase of three automobiles to help with tax collection, as well as 240 million rupees for land surveying equipment. Mr. Mafuru went on to note that the council has been able to issue loans worth 1.04 billion/- to 49 different groups, in addition to continuing to work on the Dodoma City Hotel strategic hotel project.
He also promised to keep working on vital investment projects in Mtumba’s government city, which has already achieved 90% completion in its first phase. The council has also successfully completed land evaluations in Nala, Mtumba, Kikombo, and Ihumwa, where local monies were used to compensate the residents for a total of 1.32 billion/-.
During that time, the city inspected 10,339 plots in Ngh’ongh’ona, Hombolo Bwawani, Zuzu, and Mpunguzi. It has also developed 41 land use plans. The city issued a total of 8,247 title documents to diverse landowners from July to December of last year.
