A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed by Kimisitu DT Sacco and StarTimes Solar with the goal of advancing green energy solutions in Kenya.
Officials from both organisations attended the signing event, which took place at the Kimisitu DT Sacco offices in Nairobi. It was a major step in hastening the nation’s transition to renewable energy.
Carter Luo, CEO of StarTimes, spoke at the ceremony and emphasised the partnership’s significance in meeting energy requirements in a sustainable manner.
“This partnership demonstrates our dedication to provide homes and businesses dependable and reasonably priced solar energy options. We want to enable communities to adopt green energy and lessen their carbon footprint in collaboration with Kimisitu DT Sacco,” Carter Luo stated.
Carter pointed out that this alliance highlights the growing significance of private-private partnerships in tackling climate change concerns, in addition to reflecting a common goal for environmental sustainability.
The CEO of Kimisitu DT Sacco, Lwanga Mbeche, supported Luo’s remarks and emphasised the Sacco’s commitment to supporting eco-friendly projects.
“As a financial organisation, we are aware of how important it is for us to promote access to clean energy. Our members will be able to take advantage of cutting-edge, environmentally friendly energy solutions through this collaboration with StarTimes Solar, which will also support sustainable development,” Mbeche said.
Furthermore he stated that in order to make solar energy systems available to a larger population, especially in underserved areas, the program will launch in stages, beginning with product financing choices.
In addition to helping Kenya meet its green energy goals, this project is anticipated to improve energy access, especially for marginalised households and small enterprises.
