BasiGo Adds 28 New Buses To Its Rwandan Operations

BasiGo, an African electric bus company, has stated that it will start delivering 28 new electric buses to Kigali, Rwanda, the next month. Additionally, the business will set up the necessary facilities at its Rwandex depot so that 25 buses may be charged overnight.

According to BasiGo, an African electric bus operator, 28 new electric buses would begin arriving in Kigali, Rwanda, the following month. In order to charge 25 buses overnight, the company will also set up the required equipment at its Rwandex facility.

The CEO and co-founder of BasiGo, Jit Bhattacharya, stated, “BasiGo is pleased to be delivering the largest shipment of electric buses to date into Rwanda.” Rwanda’s dedication to environmentally friendly transportation has made it the perfect place for private sector investment and e-mobility innovation. BasiGo is pleased to assist Rwanda in making significant progress toward the country’s objective of universal, electrified public transportation with this first significant shipment of electric buses.

BasiGo claims that by adding 1MW of electricity to its Rwandex charging and service station, it will be able to consistently charge 25 electric buses throughout the night. The company’s Pay-As-You-Drive concept, which offers local bus operators billing, maintenance, insurance, and service, will be used to operate the buses.

Although it has not yet confirmed the quantity or kind of chargers to be made available, BasiGo says it also aims to install more charging stations around Rwanda.
