The Gombe State government has allocated N1.15 billion for various development initiatives, including solar street light installations and infrastructure upgrades in three local government areas (LGAs). This was announced by Malam Mahmood Yusuf, the Director-General of the Joint Project Development Agency, during a press briefing in Gombe on Thursday.
Yusuf explained that the approval for these projects came from the Joint Project Council (JPC), chaired by Governor Inuwa Yahaya, as part of the governor’s ongoing efforts to improve the state’s infrastructure. These projects reflect the government’s commitment to enhancing public amenities and promoting sustainable development.
A significant portion of the funds, N740 million, will be used for installing solar street lights on newly constructed roads in Kumo. This initiative aims to improve security and the quality of life for residents in the area.
In addition, N362 million has been earmarked for the installation of solar street lights and the fencing of the National Agricultural Land Development Authority (NALDA) market in Kwadon, part of the Yamaltu/Deba LGA. These efforts are part of a broader strategy to modernize the state’s infrastructure and support local economies.
These projects highlight the state government’s commitment to sustainable development and improving the living standards of Gombe residents through modern infrastructure solutions.
