According to the nation’s public enterprise minister, Egypt is attempting to revitalize its specialized industries and has a plan to make flax a crucial, valuable raw material for the manufacturing and textile industries.
Minister of Public Enterprise Mohamed Shimy stated during a tour of the Tanta Flax and Oils Company that there was a clear direction to integrate businesses throughout the textile value chain in order to achieve sustainable growth based on the best possible use of local resources.
The state-owned Chemical Industries Holding Company is the parent company of Tanta Flax and Oils.
Shimy examined the business’s performance, production capabilities, and long-term goals while he was there. In order to boost local output and lower import costs, he emphasized the significance of developing the flax industry as a foundation for integration with spinning and weaving businesses and for assisting manufacturing industries.
“Exporting Egyptian flax as a high-value product to international markets and expanding local production and manufacturing of its derivatives are excellent opportunities because Egyptian flax is regarded as one of the best varieties in the world in terms of quality and purity,” Shimy stated.
