
Nairobi is one of several cities across the world where city halls are working on efforts to improve and restore street lighting, mostly by swapping out traditional fixtures for intelligent, energy-efficient LED lights.
In an effort to boost safety, order, and the overall perception of the capital, the Nairobi City County Administration has stepped up a citywide push to restore streetlights. Infrastructure for street lighting is being extended and maintained by the county. In in addition to residential and business areas like Kilimani, the centre of town, Buruburu, and Westlands, fresh lighting pole are being mounted on Lower Hill Road, Enterprise Road, and Arboretum Drive.

The beautifying project is a component of Governor Johnson Sakaja’s larger urban revitalization plan, which aims to maintain Nairobi’s natural beauty and improve safety through dependable lighting.

Improved lighting makes roadways and public areas safer for pedestrians and commuters. LED technology and enhanced control systems result in significant savings on electricity bills as well as service expenses.
