ORB Energy Partners with Safal Group to Boost Solar Capacity in Kenya

Orb Energy, a solar solutions provider, has partnered with Safal Group’s Mabati Rolling Mills to advance large-scale solar adoption and support Kenya’s green transition.

According to a statement from Orb Energy founder and CEO Damian Miller, the partnership highlights the critical role that solar power plays in assisting energy-intensive businesses in lowering their carbon footprint while guaranteeing long-term energy security and cost competitiveness.

The announcement claims that Orb Energy, a producer of solar energy solutions in Africa and India, has teamed up with Mabati Rolling Mills, a company owned by the Safal Group, to hasten Kenya’s green transformation by implementing solar on a massive scale.

One of the biggest rooftop solar installations in Kenya was accomplished by Orb Energy as part of this collaboration: a 2.9 MW rooftop solar system was successfully built at the Mariakani site of Mabati Rolling Mills (MRM), Miller stated.

The company stated that the system is expected to produce around 4,200 MWh of clean electricity each year.

Miller stated, this project with M is a significant milestone for Orb Energy in Kenya and a clear indication of how heavy industry can lead Africa’s green transition.

It will directly help M’s sustainability and corporate responsibility goals by producing more than 4,200 MWh of clean energy yearly, preventing more than 200 tonnes of CO2 emissions, and saving significant amounts of money on power, according to a statement from M CEO Albert Sigei.
