Marriott International Inc. recently announced further expansion in Africa with the opening of its seventh hotel in Algeria, Sheraton Annaba www.Sheraton.com/Annaba.
Alex Kyriakidis, President and Managing Director, Middle East and Africa, Marriott International confirmed the reports and said that the opening of the major hotel will further lead to the growth of the company throughout Africa.
“We are delighted to strengthen our partnership with Société d’Investissement Hôtelière, as we open our seventh Hotel in Algeria, its opening will further underline our commitment to growth and expansion in Algeria, a market which continues to be integral to our overall development strategy throughout Africa.”
Marriot already operates six hotels in Algeria including Constantine Marriott Hotel, Renaissance Tlemcen Hotel, Sheraton Club des Pins, Sheraton Oran, Le Meridien Oran and Four Points by Sheraton Oran amounting to 1580 rooms. Having another six hotels under development the Company is planning to double its footprint in the country.
