Long Business Description:
The COMESA Competition Commission is a regional body established under Article 6 of the Regulations. In 2004, the COMESA Council of Ministers invoked Article 55(3) of the COMESA Treaty and promulgated the COMESA Competition Regulations of 2004, as a legal framework for the regulation of competition in the Common Market. It promotes competitive markets and enhance consumer welfare within the Common Market by preventing and prohibiting anticompetitive business practices and protecting consumers, thereby deepening regional integration.
