\"\"The consortium was assembled by TBEA Xinjiang New Energy Co., Ltd. and AMEA Power.
\nThis project was part of a large international tender launched by the Ministry of Industry and SMEs in Tunisia in 2018 and is aligned with the government\u2019s 2030 New Energy Vision.
\nUnder this international tender, a total capacity of 500MW solar projects was awarded to various fortunate bidders.<\/p>\n

After declaration, AMEA Power\u2019s Chairman, Hussain Al Nowais, said: \u201cWe are very delighted to close this year with the news of being awarded a large renewable energy project in one of our key target markets.<\/p>\n

“This is a project awarded through a competitive bidding process, and we look forward to supporting the country in accomplishing its objective to diversify the energy mix.”<\/p>\n

The 100MW solar project will be situated in Kairouan. A 20-year power purchase agreement (PPA) will be signed with the Soci\u00e9t\u00e9 Tunisienne de l\u2019Electricit\u00e9 et du Gaz (STEG).<\/p>\n

The power plant will be able to generate nearly 250,490GWh per year and will contribute to avoiding 247,000 metric tonnes of CO2 emissions each year.<\/p>\n

On 10 December 2019, AMEA Power signed a PPA with the Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company (EETC) for a 200MW solar PV project and a 500MW wind power project in Egypt.<\/p>\n

Prior to this, on 26 November 2019, AMEA Power signed a PPA with Togo\u2019s national utility company, La Compagnie Energie Electrique du Togo (CEET), for a 50MW solar PV project. This project is now under construction.<\/p>\n

Another PPA was inked earlier in 2019 with Chad\u2019s Ministry of Energy for a 60MW solar PV project. Moreover, the company has two projects under construction in Jordan; a 50MW solar power plant and a 51.75MW wind power plant.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
