The Mesob Tower’s construction is set to begin in Ethiopia. Hirut Kassaw (Ph.D.), Minister of Culture and Tourism, Ethiopia revealed the report and told that Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between ministry and architecture of the tower to begin its construction.
The height of the building will be 250 metres and a base area of 20,000 square metres. With a budget of USD 681 million, this building will feature hotels, shopping malls, gym, cultural centre, golf club, and others. The expected time of completion is 5 years, located in the capital city Addis Ababa.
The unique design of Mesob Tower and the diverse culture of Ethiopia will attract tourism and enhance the positive image of the country upon completion, said by Architect.
The tower in the sky will symbolize the unity for tourists, and upon realization, this tower will provide sufficient human resources to the Ethiopian tourism industry. The tourism industry of Ethiopia has increased by 48.6 percent annually, according to the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC), added by Hirut.
The Minister also said that Ethiopia has experienced the highest increase in tourism among African nations and the world. The construction of this tower will be an added advantage to the growing tourism in the country.
