To promote the development of COVID-19 testing in South Africa, the UK-based NPH Group has worked with global healthcare equipment supplier BHA Medical as well as other research and implementation organisations.
Over four million COVID-19 tests have now been delivered worldwide by the joint venture. NPH Group, BHA, and other partners have the experience, technology, and on-the-ground resources to expedite testing in South Africa and slow the spread of the new Omicron variant.
The collaborations are also setting the path for future collaboration on health screening for HIV, tuberculosis, malaria, yellow fever, and other diseases.
“With offices in the UK, USA, China, Canada, Mauritius, and South Africa, our strategy to combating COVID-19 has played a crucial part in reopening sectors internationally,” stated Mark Schroder, CEO of BHA Medical Southern Africa. We are already assisting a number of small, medium, and big businesses in South Africa with high-quality screening methods to secure their employees, partners, suppliers, and travellers.
“Knowing where disease is and how it spreads is critical to avoiding illness.” We hope to help close the gap between undiagnosed infectious diseases and those who have been screened.
“Throughout the pandemic, we worked together with NPH Group to provide millions of testing products and services in response to the COVID-19 outbreak. Our collaboration began in the United Kingdom, where we jointly help companies such as Newcastle International Airport, Ocado, and Virgin Voyages, among others. In South Africa, we have recently begun to roll out test and manage facilities to assist the public healthcare system in monitoring and controlling the virus.
“By increasing knowledge transfer and skills, we hope to improve the health and well-being of both developed and developing countries.”
BHA and NPH have collaborated to provide online medical technology for travel testing as well as a Test Manage and Monitor Program (TMMP) for businesses to manage venues, events, and workplaces.
“Our cooperation with BHA Medical means we can give an end-to-end test, trace, and manage service to enterprises and organisations around the world,” said Mark Philpott, CEO of NPH Group. BHA’s supply chain and logistics expertise ensures that we are always in a strong position to keep our promises.
“Our jointly developed NPH iMed App connects directly to our Test Manager solution, offering businesses and organisations complete control over their testing and monitoring needs while also assisting them in keeping their personnel safe.” Because the data is fed directly into Public Health England in the United Kingdom, we are also assisting the NHS by lowering their workload.
“The agreement will enable future collaboration on projects focused at assisting health screening in Sub-Saharan Africa, with a current focus on COVID-19 but with other health diseases such as HIV, tuberculosis, malaria, yellow fever, and other illnesses to be introduced soon.” We can assist shrink the gap between undiagnosed illnesses and reverse the tide on their spread through populations by combining our technologies and delivering our test and trace solution on the ground.
“These projects aim to raise disease awareness and enable disease tracking in populations and workplaces.”
“In addition, we will assist business organisations with drug testing programmes for their employees that will be integrated into their human resource systems.”
