The Kinusi Copper Project in Tanzania will begin with copper exploration work after Marula Mining, a mining and development company with an emphasis on Africa, appointed exploration and mining service company Geofields Tanzania. Following the start of their exploration activities at the company’s Bagamoyo Graphite Project earlier this month, Geofields was appointed.
In 10 granted copper mining licences at Kinusi, local Tanzanian business Takela Mining Tanzania Ltd. has a 49% commercial interest on behalf of Marula Mining. The document continues, “All samples from the planned exploration work will be sent to Tanzania for analyses with initial results anticipated in the second quarter of this year.
According to Chief Executive Officer Jason Brewer: “Beginning these preliminary operations at the Kinusi mine only strengthens our conviction that it is possible to create a low-cost copper mining operation with sales of copper concentrates to foreign markets. We anticipate working with the Takela team to make Kinusi a success because we think it has the potential to become the company’s second operating mine in 2023.”
