For the Phase II Expansion at their Bombore Gold mine in Burkina Faso, Orezone Gold Corporation has given Metso an order for an 18MW SAG mill.
“Due to its energy efficiency, the Premier SAG (semi autogenous) mill that is being supplied to Bombore is a part of our Planet Positive portfolio. Based on tried-and-true technology, this high-capacity SAG mill will be among the biggest gear-driven mills erected in Africa. It has a Polymer Hydrostatic Shoe Bearing (HSB) system, which greatly extends the life and dependability of radial and axial bearings, and an efficient LSS drive. Additionally, according to Christoph Hoetzel, SVP of Metso’s Grinding business line, “it is outfitted with the Metso MillSense mill charge sensor system, which aids in stabilizing and optimizing the grinding process to ensure dependable operation and increased throughput.”
