For the purpose of introducing SPEE3D’s cold spray additive manufacturing (CSAM) technology to West Africa, the two companies have formed a strategic alliance.
Nigeria-based RussellSmith is a top supplier of comprehensive energy solutions with an emphasis on cutting-edge, sustainable technologies.
Under the terms of the deal, RusselSmith will supply cold spray metal parts produced in Africa and has acquired a WarpSPEE3D 3D printing machine. The WarpSPEE3D uses patented SPEE3D technology to print components up to 40 kg and 1 m x.7 m in diameter in a matter of hours.
In addition, RusselSmith will work with SPEE3D as a regional partner and value-added reseller, deploying, educating, marketing, and providing customer support to clients in the oil and gas, defence, and commercial sectors of the region.
Nigeria’s oil and gas industries are among the most thriving in the region. By producing parts locally, SPEE3D and RusselSmith hope to close the gap between required and available parts, assisting businesses in streamlining operations and cutting expenses.
The Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC) has certified only RusselSmith as the entity capable of utilising industrial non-metallic additive manufacturing solutions in the oil and gas sector. Additionally, RussellSmith became the first African member company of the Additive Manufacturing Green Trade Association (AMTGA) after being inducted recently.
“We are excited to introduce our cold spray additive manufacturing solution to West Africa,” stated Byron Kennedy, CEO of SPEE3D. “We are dedicated to the expansion and advancement of additive manufacturing worldwide.” “We are thrilled to be partnering with RussellSmith; they are a reputable leader in the area, introducing the newest additive manufacturing technology and assisting in the resolution of significant supply chain problems for the oil and gas, defence, and other commercial industries. Along with bringing the WarpSPEE3D printer to the area, our partnership as value-added resellers will guarantee that clients receive the sales, assistance, and training required for all of our products.
RusselSmith has embarked on a mission to encourage the adoption of additive manufacturing technology in Africa in order to produce essential spare parts for the energy industry and other industries, in response to the persistent issues in the supply chain of legacy parts in Nigeria and throughout the continent. The CEO of RussellSmith, Kayode Adeleke, said, “We are expanding our capacity by creating a strong additive manufacturing ecosystem through purposeful investments and strategic alliances with top additive manufacturing companies. “SPEE3D, the leader in cutting-edge metal additive manufacturing technology with their unique cold spray technology, is a game-changer for us in our cooperation. With the help of this collaboration, we can quickly produce high-quality components locally and sustainably, utilising cutting-edge cold spray technology to increase our clients’ operational uptime.
At RusselSmith, our mission is to improve operational efficiency across Africa by being the foremost supplier of cutting-edge digital and deployable additive manufacturing solutions, “one part at a time.
