KCB Bank and WaterEquity in Tanzania Sign a USD 15 Million Agreement

WaterEquity and KCB Bank Tanzania have inked a USD 15 million (or Tsh39.48 billion) cooperation to promote water accessibility throughout Tanzania, especially in rural areas that are underserved.

The money will go mostly toward important water projects run by the Dar es Salaam Water Supply and Sanitation Authority (DAWASA) and Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Agency (RUWASA) that will enhance the infrastructure for sanitation and water availability. This program is in line with KCB Bank’s dedication to sustainable development and promoting the welfare of Tanzanian communities.

These initiatives fall under important sub-sectors, such as trade and supply, building and construction, and material and equipment manufacture.

Pascal Machango (Head of Treasury), who spoke at the signing event in Dar es Salaam on behalf of the KCB Group Regional Businesses Director and Managing Director, stressed the value of the partnership in advancing the nation’s development objectives as well as the bank’s sustainability mission.

In the spirit of enhancing community well-being, we are happy to formally announce this partnership between KCB Bank and WaterEquity, which will not only bolster our portfolio but also guarantee that funds are allocated to projects that will have a long-lasting impact on people’s lives.

Through this strategic partnership, KCB Bank hopes to promote Tanzania’s water sector and help more communities have access to clean and dependable water sources, as water accessibility is still a major problem in many regions of the nation, especially in rural areas.

More than USD 28 million (72.8 billion) in loans for water and sanitation were disbursed by KCB Bank in 2024, demonstrating the bank’s commitment to advancing Tanzania’s development strategy by promoting sustainable solutions that meet basic community requirements.
