PLASTICS, PRINTING AND PACKAGING INNOVATIONS ON DISPLAY AT THE PPPEXPO KENYA 2019

The 22nd edition of the PPPEXPO 2019 will be staged at the KICC, Nairobi in Kenya from the 1st – 3rd August 2019 for the plastic, printing and packaging industry. The PPPEXPO 2019 showcases the latest products and developments made globally across the industry and opens more opportunities for business in East Africa. Kenya is one of the major access points in Africa and relies on the huge volume of imports in the country for its own consumption to cater to over 40 million consumers.

Last year, the country imported goods valued at $200 million and re-exported goods worth $520 million. Kenya’s growth resumed in the last five years reaching 5.7% in 2018 placing the country as one of the fastest growing economies in Sub-Saharan Africa. The economic expansion has been boosted by a stable macroeconomic environment, low oil prices, rebound in tourism, strong remittance inflows, and a government-led infrastructure development initiative. Looking ahead, near-term gross domestic product growth (GDP) is expected to rise to 5.8% in 2019 underpinned by recovery in agriculture, better business sentiment, and easing of political uncertainty.

PPPEXPO responds to industry trends to cater to market needs. To save time and cost, lighter and simpler packaging has become the current market trend. Also in high demand are advanced technologies such as RFID and augmented reality. Multinational exhibitors are prepared to showcase the latest in printing and packaging consumables, materials, equipment & systems, as well as diversified services, including prepress, graphic arts and design, multimedia technologies, repair and maintenance.

“Kenya’s market is poised for considerable expansion in the coming years, boosted by consistent GDP growth, a growing population with increased purchasing power and the development of new businesses and e-commerce portals,” says Mr. Daniels, Exhibition Manager – Expogroup.

The year 2018 had seen the PPP trade events attracting prospective trade visitors from over East and Central Africa. The event has also proven to be an ideal sourcing platform of enhanced printing and packaging solutions for industry buyers. Kenya is one of the major printing centers in East Africa; PPPEXPO opens up the African market for exhibitors to capture the various market opportunities and to promote their products aboard. An excellent geographical location and superb supporting facilities and services make Kenya a major trading hub.

The 22nd edition of the event has attracted a number of the industry’s biggest names including experts, stake-holders, directors and other high profile decision-makers that makes it the ideal entry-way into the African economy for interested investors, manufacturers and suppliers. PPPEXPO remains a major hub for business transactions and development in Africa annually, due to its proven track record in the region. The event will continue to bring the newest and most innovative products in the plastic, printing and packaging industry from around the world, directly to Africa.
