Ethiopia: Industrial Parks Show Performance Improvement, IPDC

Industrial Parks Development Corporation revealed that the performance of industrial parks, Ethiopia had begun showing improvement after a period of relative stagnation. The CEO of the Corporation, Aklilu Tadesse, said that Ethiopia was able to see improvements because investors were able to access markets other than the United States where the country was a beneficiary of the African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA).

Aklilu stressed that Ethiopia would strive to create employment opportunities by attracting investment and expanding opportunities.

In related news, the Ethiopian Investment Commission (EIC) announced that it planned to attract a significant number of foreign direct investment this fiscal year as the country’s investment environment became secure. According to Daniel Teressa, Deputy Commissioner of the EIC, the peace agreement which was settled between the Ethiopian Government and TPLF would have a significant place in the attraction of foreign investors.

Daniel said that the Commission would work towards enhancing the investment environment, supporting investment activities, and addressing gaps across various sectors.
